Woodland trees are always a classic way to decorate for the holidays. This rustic tree can go with most any decor you already have.
The cost for this is only $2-3.
If you have any plywood scraps around, this project is perfect.
This rustic wood tree can be made to be any size!
Tools used:
- bandsaw
- sander
Supplies:
- 12×12 plywood square, use any size you’d like
- green craft paint
- gold spray paint
- sandpaper

Start with a square piece of plywood. I have a 12×12″ piece. Mark the middle at the top.

From the center point you just marked, draw a straight line down to the corners.

Cut on the lines with a bandsaw.

Start making short cuts, close together up one side.

After you’ve gone up the whole side, turn the triangle at a different angle and cut into the notches, taking out chunks.

Continue up the whole side, taking out small random chunks.
Repeat the process on the other side.

Sand the front and back.

Get out your favorite green craft paint. I mix mine with a little water for a slightly translucent coat.

After painting and letting dry, I sandwiched the plywood with cardboard and sprayed the edges with a little gold spray paint.

Think about all of the plywood pieces you have laying around!
