Who else LOVES Americana decor?! These cute patriotic stars are perfect for Memorial day and Fourth of July crafts. Shelf sitters are usually an in expensive craft to make and an easy wood craft to sell.
I will show you how to make your own wood star craft. Just grab some 1×6 pieces to create your own!

Tools used:
- bandsaw
Materials:
- small pieces of 1×6 pine
- sandpaper
- paint
- star tracer

For my star tracer, I just went on google images and found one I liked. To print it so it would be 5 inches, I played around with the custom scale size.

Trace your stars with pencil or marker onto the wood.

I quickly cut them separately on my chop saw to save me time on the bandsaw.

Stars are really easy to cut out on bandsaw since it’s all straight cuts. Go in straight to the point, then slowly back it out. I did all the left sides and then did all of the right side cuts.

After cutting out, I quickly sanded the edges and then stained the stars with Minwax Golden Oak.

Now we’re ready to paint!

Dry brush the paint on. Take a dab of paint on your brush and lightly brush it on to your liking. Don’t do a full coat of coverage so that it has a weathered look.

Red, white and blue wood stars are done! You can batch these and easily make a lot in just an hour.
